A basket that glows. Uranium oxide runs through the glass — exactly as it did when this piece left a Stourbridge furnace over a century ago. Opaline body, hand-applied amber decoration.
An ideal piece for collectors of Victorian art glass, period interior styling, or film and TV prop use requiring authentic 19th-century glasswork. Opaline glass body with ruffled rim, hand-applied looped amber handle, applied leaves and cherry clusters in amber and cranberry glass. Confirmed uranium glass content under UV light — the opaline body itself fluoresces bright green, along with the handle and applied decoration. Attributed to Stevens & Williams, Stourbridge, one of the most celebrated English art glass houses of the Victorian era.
