A delicate hand-coloured etching of the celebrated Belvedere gate in Vienna — signed by Robert Kasimir, one of Austria's most beloved printmakers, and carrying the stamp of a distinguished Viennese gallery.

OBJECT DETAILS: An ideal piece for collectors of European printmaking, interior designers sourcing original vintage wall art, or film and TV prop buyers seeking period-accurate early 20th century Viennese interiors.

A framed original colour etching depicting the ornate iron gate of the Belvedere Palace, Vienna — the summer palace built for Prince Eugene of Savoy by Lucas von Hildebrandt, 1693–1724. Hand-signed in pencil by the artist below the image. The etching is hand-coloured in the artist's characteristic style, with a pencil-drawn border. Retains its original gilt and walnut frame.

Provenance: bears the original gallery label of Galerie Otto, Wien (Vienna, Badgastein, Munich, London) to the reverse, together with a handwritten note in German identifying the subject.

Artist: Robert Kasimir (1914–2002), Vienna. Origin: Austria. Circa 1920s–1930s.

DIMENSIONS: Framed: H 23cm × W 19.5cm (H 9" × W 7.7")

CONDITION: In good vintage condition, consistent with age. Minor undulation to the paper in the hand-coloured area, visible only on close inspection — characteristic of the hand-colouring technique. A small number of dust particles present beneath the glass. The frame is intact with light age patina. No tears, no foxing, no significant damage.

Photographs form part of this description. Please review all images carefully as they document the piece's condition in full detail.

CURATOR'S NOTE: Acquired through Galerie Otto — a distinguished gallery with premises in Vienna, Munich, Badgastein and London — this small etching carries genuine provenance. Kasimir's Vienna prints are collected internationally; this one retains its original gallery label and a handwritten subject note, making it a complete and characterful example.
