This is a berry bowl / fruit strainer and matching plate in translucent celadon-glazed porcelain, made by Welsh studio potter Joanna Howells (born 1960). The bowl features a gently undulating organic rim, a swirling relief pattern to the interior, and a series of small pierced drainage holes around the lower body — designed for washing and draining fresh berries or cherries directly at the table. The matching plate echoes the bowl's organic form with the same flowing swirl relief and irregular, hand-altered edge. Both pieces are covered in Howells' characteristic pale celadon glaze — cool, luminous and translucent. Impressed JH maker's mark present on the base of the plate.
