Two soaring spirals of aqua glass rise from tightly coiled bases — fluid, theatrical, and utterly alive in changing light. Together they create a sculptural dialogue that commands any surface they inhabit.

OBJECT DETAILS

An ideal pair for interior designers seeking a striking contemporary accent in Italian art glass, or for film and TV prop buyers sourcing expressive decorative objects for modern or transitional set dressing. These are two hand-blown glass sculptures in the Murano tradition, each formed from aqua and teal glass with fine blue threading running throughout the length of the form. One sculpture incorporates embedded aventurine — fine metallic sparkle suspended within the glass body, visible as the light shifts. Each piece rises from a circular coiled spiral base into a tall, sinuous upward sweep. Late Modern / Contemporary Italian art glass. Italy, circa 1990s–2000s. Unsigned; maker unknown.

DIMENSIONS

Approximately H 52cm (H 20.5") — the two pieces vary slightly in height.

CONDITION REPORT

In good vintage condition. Both sculptures have chipped tips which have been ground and smoothed to remove sharp edges; the finish is clean and even. No cracks, no damage to the body or bases, structurally sound. Photographs form part of this description. Please review all images carefully as they document the piece's condition in full detail.

CURATOR'S NOTE

Selected as a pair for the energy they create together — their slight asymmetry and shared upward reach make them as compelling on a mantelpiece as on a gallery shelf. The aventurine in one piece catches the light differently to its companion, giving the pair a quiet visual tension that rewards attention.
