A Dresden decorator's work so rare that the company itself vanished from the trade registry in 1914. Hand-painted bouquets, shell-relief moulding, gilded rococo edges — made for a table that understood the difference.

OBJECT DETAILS:
An ideal piece for collectors of German decorative porcelain, period interior styling, or film and TV prop use in Edwardian or late Victorian settings. Cup with shell-relief moulded body, hand-painted Blumenmalerei floral bouquet, gilded rococo cartouche and handle. Scalloped saucer with shell-relief moulding, matching hand-painted bouquet, gilded edge. Marked to base: R. Grossbaum & Söhne, Dresden — registered 1892, deleted from Dresden trade registry 1914. Pieces from this decoration studio are rare.

DIMENSIONS:
Cup: W 9cm × H 5cm. Saucer: diameter 13.5cm

CONDITION:
Excellent antique condition. Gilding bright and intact throughout. No chips, no cracks, no restoration. Hand-painted decoration fully intact on both cup and saucer.

CURATOR'S NOTE:
Selected for the quality of the hand-painting and the rarity of the maker. R. Grossbaum & Söhne operated for just over twenty years — their pieces surface rarely. The shell-relief form elevates this beyond a standard Dresden cup and saucer.
