Recumbent, clawed, and utterly singular — this cast brass lobster candlestick commands a surface the moment it is set down. Extravagant in concept, precise in execution: pure Hollywood Regency.

OBJECT DETAILS An ideal piece for interior designers sourcing bold Hollywood Regency statement objects, or for film and TV prop buyers seeking unusual period table dressing with strong visual character.

A single cast brass figural candlestick formed as a recumbent lobster, the candle socket mounted to the creature's back with a moulded collar and flared drip pan. The casting is detailed throughout — segmented body, articulated claws, fanned tail fin, and multiple fine legs visible beneath the form. Rich warm patina with darker toning in the recessed detail, entirely unrestored. Continental European or British, Hollywood Regency / Baroque Revival style, circa 1960s. No maker's mark visible.

DIMENSIONS L 23cm × W 10cm × H 9cm (L 9.1" × W 3.9" × H 3.5")

CONDITION REPORT In very good vintage condition, consistent with age and use. Natural brass patina throughout, with darker toning in the recessed areas of the casting — unrestored. No cracks, no repairs, no structural damage. Stands level and stable. Photographs form part of this description. Please review all images carefully as they document the piece's condition in full detail.

CURATOR'S NOTE Selected for its rarity and the quality of its casting. Figural brass candlesticks of this form — a functional object reimagined as pure theatre — are seldom found in good unrestored condition. An outstanding conversation piece for an eclectic interior, a collector's cabinet, or a dining table dressed for drama.
