There is something theatrical and commanding about this pair — two cast brass soldiers, arms outstretched, each bearing twin candle sockets as if presenting light itself. A piece that stops a room.

OBJECT DETAILS An ideal piece for interior designers sourcing dramatic Empire-style decorative objects, or for film and TV prop buyers seeking period-accurate Continental set dressing.

A matched pair of cast brass figural candelabra, each formed as a standing armoured soldier in classical dress — scale-pattern cuirass, plumed helmet — with arms extended to hold two scalloped drip pans and cylindrical candle sockets. The domed circular bases are engraved with a repeating scrollwork border. In the Empire and Neoclassical tradition, French or Continental European, circa late 19th to early 20th century. Maker unknown.

DIMENSIONS H 20cm × W 14cm (H 7.9" × W 5.5") — per piece. Sold as a pair.

CONDITION REPORT In very good vintage condition, consistent with age and use. Natural brass patina present throughout, with warm tonal variation across both figures. No cracks, no repairs, no structural damage. Both figures stand level and stable. Photographs form part of this description. Please review all images carefully as they document the piece's condition in full detail.

CURATOR'S NOTE Selected for their theatrical symmetry and the quality of their casting. A pair that commands a mantelpiece, dining table, or sideboard — equally at home in a formal Empire interior or as a bold counterpoint in an eclectic setting. An outstanding prop for period film and television production.
