Two candlesticks that have stood through two centuries of candlelight. The sand-cast brass, hand-turned on a lathe, hand-cut thread — every detail confirms a maker working before the machine age changed everything.

OBJECT DETAILS:
An ideal pair for period interior styling, Georgian or Biedermeier film and TV production, or a collector seeking authentic pre-industrial brasswork. Turned baluster column, wide circular drip-catch base. Two-part construction joined by original hand-cut thread — a technique largely abandoned after 1850. Sand-cast surface visible beneath the patina. Solid brass throughout, unlacquered.

DIMENSIONS:
H 23cm × Base diameter 12cm each (H 9" × Base 4.7")

CONDITION:
Very good antique condition consistent with age. Natural honey-gold patina with verdigris to base and thread — unlacquered, original surface. Concentrically turned base with sand-cast texture intact. No dents, no repairs, no replacements. Thread original. Sold as a pair.

CURATOR'S NOTE:
Selected for the evidence they carry — hand-cast, hand-turned, hand-threaded. The machine did not make these. Someone did.
